Requirements for New Volunteers:

Firefighter I
An 80 hour course involving all aspects of firefighting including ladders, search and rescue, ventilation, classroom work, and various other hands-on skills that will prepare the cadet for the rigors of firefighting. This is all brought together the last day of class with live fire burn evolutions.
S-130/S-190
This is a 40 hour basic course intended to give new personnel an overview of the differences encountered in wildfires. 8 hours of classroom, 8 hours in the field, and 24 hours of internet based training.
Hazardous Materials Operations
This is a 16 hour course involving various aspects of identifying, securing and isolating hazardous materials incidents along with hands-on exercises. This course also covers defensive operations such as damming and diking spills.
Firefighter Emergency Care
This is a 24 hour course covering cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management and ventilation, use of an automated defibrillator, basic trauma care, and basic care for the most common medical emergencies.

After this point personnel may choose one of three interest pathways; Structural firefighting, Wildland firefighting, or Emergency Medical Care.
